My search for a single engine 200kt, 4 place, full fuel load aircraft soon convinced me that only the Experimental Lancair would provide that performance. Hotel Lima Papa is a Continental twin turbo TSIO 550 350HP powered SUPER ES with a 3 blade MT prop.
The engine has 90 hrs since a 2018 overhaul. The prop has only 50 hrs since new.
The retractable Lancair IV has a reputation for being very speedy but also an aircraft that can bite you, The fixed gear ES version is a great compromise as a fast but more sedate handling "load hauler". It's slow flight characteristics are well behaved. Stalling the ES is a non event! That is why Lancair has dropped production of the IV kits & has continued the ES in the form of the Mako.

Air-conditioning is a necessity on our hot summer days. Immediately after engine start on goes the A/C.
A built in Mountain High Oxygen system means this non-pressurized ES is a very capable, versatile machine. Fl 180 has been my highest cruise level to date & has delivered my target 200kts. Higher levels would result in an even higher TAS.
Speed brakes make life easy when ATC leaves you high for too long.....

The panel is an absolute delight. Twin Garmin G3X Touch screens & autopilot connected to a Garmin GTN 750. 2 GPS's, 2 Coms, ADSB in & out. An Aspen as a backup to the backup.... All powered by dual alternators & twin batteries.
The 454 litres of usable fuel provides great flexibility for remote flying & IFR alternate considerations.
A dual Berringer brake kit has been installed with an amazing gain in braking capacity. Great for short strips....
